Attorney Julie H. Nommensen is a recent addition to the law practice. Julie is an Elkhorn native and always had aspirations of joining her father in the practice of law. She is glad to return to the community and is eager to serve the residents of Elkhorn and Walworth County.
Ms. Nommensen graduated magna cum laude from Northern Illinois College of Law in May 2008. While in law school, Julie spent her summer interning under a well-respected Judge at the Walworth County Judicial Center. During her last year at Northern Illinois, Ms. Nommensen worked at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford, Illinois, as a student attorney sworn in under the Illinois student practice rule. Under the supervision of the clinic instructors, she represented low-income elderly clients in need of legal services. She also spent a semester interning at the Illinois State Appellate Defender’s Office in Ottawa, Illinois, where she gained a working practical knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
Julie pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Finance and Marketing. She also played on the women’s basketball team at Whitewater.
